Abro Adeg Ceramic
An Italian woman working at the Italian Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia saw the extreme needs of the Ethiopian women. She wanted to use her gifts and abilities to assist them, so she took her pottery skills and trained 15 women in ceramics. Her focus was to take women in great need and train them so they could have a stable income and a better chance at life. Today this project is 15 years old and is a light in their community. Over the years, all the women have become Christians and most have been a part of the group from the conception of the project. Currently the women are able to sell their pottery at local bazaars and through Heavenly Treasures in the U.S. Their heart is to expand their markets so they can grow their business and continue to broaden their lives and opportunities.
