OUR MISSION
is to equip and assist people in developing countries to break the cycle of poverty through their handiwork and creativity. We focus on handicraft projects that allow the development of a micro enterprise, leading them down the path to self-sufficiency. These projects are very small enterprises, ranging from one refugee family to a group of village women, all in need of a consistent income.
Our goal is to help subsidize existing Livelihood Projects by helping with assistance in business and product development, local marketing strategies, spiritual guidance and international marketing.
We agree with the standards of the Fair Trade Federation by way of definition and guidelines. We support all fair trade efforts as we have common goals. Since our micro enterprise network is focusing on the poorest of the poor, we strive to teach business development guidelines that are equal to or exceed common fair trade practices, with the hope that the livelihood project will someday reach a level of economic success to warrant certification.
The Heavenly Treasures Network consists of 50+ micro enterprise livelihood projects in 17 countries. The participants request help with developing more marketable products and helping them with an “access to markets.” We are field based in our network efforts with individuals and organizations. We visit clients of micro finance institutions and neighborhood co-ops in their homes and tiny workshops.
Investing in people who have the desire to see their lives change is exciting “business.” We are mission focused; Heavenly Treasures are people, not products. We network with those who can consistently build relationships with the participants of the livelihood projects and have their own network to build the kingdom of God.
100% of the sales proceeds are reinvested back into the livelihood project. The funds are used to ensure an ongoing market and source of income. When possible, funds are designated for special needs, equipping seminars and equipment.
Heavenly Treasures operates on a donor-supported infrastructure. Heavenly Treasures operates as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization according to IRS and State regulations. All donations given are to support Heavenly Treasures operations, mission team and merchandising efforts.
Heavenly Treasures was founded based on Biblical scripture: Matthew 6:19-21
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven… for where your treasure is there your heart will be also.”
