World Vision is a leading humanitarian organization. Some 31,000 staff members implement programs of community development, emergency relief and promotion of justice in nearly 100 countries.

World vision actively collaborates with innovative organizations such as Heavenly Treasures to increase the impact of it's programmes.

Collaboration

Heavenly Treasures and World Vision have been working together since 2005 to create increased income and greater financial security for many children and their families in some of the world's poorest countries. Heavenly Treasures identifies entrepreneurs from within World Vision's programme areas who could benefit from product development and marketing expertise. As a result of this collaboration, these entrepreneurs and their families increase their sustainable income and are able to enjoy such direct benefits as improved access to education, better nutrition, access to clean water, healthcare and improved well being in general.

How it Works

Entrepreneurs in World Vision's area development programs receive a micro loan from World Vision in the early stages of establishing their small business. Financial management and business skills training help them to run their business and manage their money...all of which help contribute to their success.

However, local markets and profits are often limited. This is due either to access, market size, or the entrepreneur's lack of knowledge on how to make the best product with the highest potential for sale.

This is where Heavenly Treasures steps in. Heavenly Treasures shares it's expertise on product design and development, including such refinements as color coordination, sizing and the addition of decorative details, etc. These refinements begin to change mediocre sales into sustainable livelihoods within their local markets. In addition to product development consulting, many items are purchased directly by Heavenly Treasures at a fair price and exported to the Glendora, California retail store for sales in the United States.

Heavenly Treasures has teamed up with World Vision in over six countries, purchasing products from all major continents.
